Is Your Team Fit For Your Mission?

Expanding your reach is not a one-man show. Whether you’re a start-up business or solo artist; without a team your efforts will fail.

A critical part of taking charge of your mission is to ensure you’re choosing a team fit for your mission. I know if you’re in a start-up phase and seem to be lacking funds to hire the appropriate team members you will say yes to anyone who is willing to help you bring your God-given vision to life. (I’ve been there myself.)

However, I encourage you to be wise in choosing your expansion buddies. Expansion buddies are those whose roles are critical to making leaps forward in your organization. Positions can range from business managers to a personal assistant. Those who join your team are more than mere workers; their efforts no matter how great or small will affect how others perceive God through your work.

Assembling your expansion team is not something you should take lightly. Your ministry depends on it. As your choosing each member of your expansion team they must meet the following requirements:

  1. Expansion buddies must be skilled. When you are in expansion mode you need team members with proven track records of working proficiently in their area of assignment. This will not only save time; will save money.
  2. Expansion buddies must believe in and support the mission of your organization. It’s important to remember that the need to expand your reach has nothing to do with you. If those on your team are not clear about this, they can unintentionally sabotage your efforts.
  3. Expansion buddies must have a mindset for expansion. An expansion mindset is a way of thinking that focuses on today while preparing for tomorrow. In addition, expansion buddies commit to grow and continually enhance themselves so they can be of highest service to God through their unselfish support of your vision.
